• Schedule: 30–35 hours per week; late morning or early/mid-afternoon start through the afternoon/evening

About the Family

A warm and busy family in McLean, Virginia is seeking a reliable, organized, and engaging Part-Time Nanny / Family Assistant to support their two children, ages 11 and 8 .

The family is looking for someone who can seamlessly tag-team with Mom and help keep the children's schedules and household running smoothly. Dad works out of state, so this role will be an important support system for Mom during the week.

The family already has a housekeeper, so this position is not a full housekeeping role . Instead, the ideal candidate will be comfortable helping with light household organization, children's laundry, and day-to-day tasks that make family life easier.

Responsibilities

• Provide care and supervision for two school-aged children, ages 11 and 8
• Coordinate closely with Mom and work as a team to manage the children's daily routines
• Pick up and shuttle children to and from school, activities, appointments, and other commitments
• Help coordinate and keep track of the children's busy after-school schedules
• Assist with children's laundry and keeping their belongings organized
• Help with light household tasks and general tidying related to the children and family
• Prepare children for activities and ensure they have everything they need
• Assist with errands and occasional family-related tasks as needed
• Provide a calm, dependable presence and step in wherever support is needed
• Communicate effectively with Mom regarding schedules, activities, and the children's needs

The ideal candidate will be warm, proactive, flexible, and highly dependable . This family is looking for someone who understands that a Family Assistant role requires being able to anticipate needs, pitch in, and work collaboratively with Mom.

Requirements

• Prior professional nanny, family assistant, or childcare experience
• Experience caring for school-aged children
• Valid driver's license and safe driving record
• Reliable transportation
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to commit to 30–35 hours per week
• Must be comfortable working in a team-oriented household and taking direction from Mom
