Biomedical Equipment Technician IIIUnder general supervision, the Biomedical Equipment Technician installs, tests, repairs, maintains, and calibrates clinical medical devices. Follows established policies and procedures and according to manufacturer guidelines and recommendations. The Biomedical Equipment Technician ensures adherence to hospital and departmental policies and regulatory standards and guidelines. Demonstrates commitment to the quality, philosophy, and values of Baptist Health by maintaining established policies and procedures, organizational objectives, process improvement, and safety standards. Demonstrates the Baptist Health standards in all interpersonal relations.Job Description (General duties/responsibilities, but not limited to):Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on hospital equipment through work orders daily.Demonstrates knowledge of safe and approved troubleshooting techniques on medical devices.Reads schematics and service manuals, consults with vendors and service representatives to assist in troubleshooting.Utilizes basic test equipment and completes repairs in a time and cost-effective manner with patient safety as the primary concern.Assemble, install, and set up limited range of hospital equipment.Perform the initial acceptance of the new equipment and add assets into database.Performs PM interval for equipment and conducts electrical safety and basic performance check.Mentoring BMET I and BMET II.Files copy of purchase order and vendor information and length of warranty for reference.Order necessary parts and maintain required par levels.Requirements:Associates of Applied Science Degree in Electronic Engineering / Biomedical (BMET) / Information Technology.8 years biomedical experience in lieu of Associate DegreeMilitary Electronics / Military Biomedical Experience in lieu of Associate DegreeBachelors in Engineering can be substituted for 5 years work experienceMasters Engineering Degree can be substituted for 6 years work experienceBenefits: Full-Time 32 weekly hours (0.8 FTE) - 40 weekly hours (1.0 FTE)Health, Vision, Dental and Pet InsuranceLife InsuranceShort Term and Long-Term Disability and Life InsuranceIdentity Theft ProtectionTuition Reimbursement up to $6,000 annuallyCompany paid Maternity and Paternity Leave5 days of Paid Time Off available upon hireBereavement Leave (includes pets)PTO Sell Back ProgramCompassionate Leave Sharing Program (PTO Donation)Employee Support Fund, for employees in need of emergency financial supportRetirement with Company MatchIf you would like to be part of a growing family focused on supporting clinical excellence, teamwork and innovation, we urge you to apply now!Baptist Health is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer.
